I cannot believe that we are halfway through August already! Time flies when you’re having fun!
This past Friday my friend Jenica and I had a garage sale, and in getting our stuff ready to sell it was so great to get stuff cleaned up and cleared out. I even found some things that had been hiding away that I could actually use for decorating and in the kitchen. I also cleared out 4 large storage tubs that I will be able to use to organize my kids clothes. It’s definitely “frugally green” when you can use things you already have to decorate and organize!
Back in March I had grand plans of going through and clearing out my stuff, but it just didn’t happen the way I expected. Now that it’s almost fall, I have a renewed drive to get things a little better cleaned out and organized. Does that happen to you when the seasons change too? Just like with spring cleaning, when fall rolls around I get the cleaning and organizing itch. I don’t even have kids in school yet, but it’s almost like the “back to school” feeling, wanting to get things in order for the new school year.
Not that it feels like fall here at all! It has been so hot and humid, almost to the point where you don’t even want to go outside! I’m loving all the fresh fruit and veggies that I’m picking up at the Farmer’s Market though and looking forward to using them in meals this week!
Here’s what’s for dinner this week:
Monday – Eggplant Parmesan, Buttery Bread Machine Rolls and salad (I don’t know if I’ll actually end up making this or not, I brought home an eggplant from the farmer’s market and hubs said, “Don’t make me anything with eggplant in it!” So, we’ll see.) 😉
Tuesday – dinner with our home group – Chili in the crockpot (it’s way too hot outside to eat chili, but hubs wants chili, think I can get him to eat the eggplant parm if I make him chili the next day?)
Wednesday – Steak Stir Fry with peppers, carrots, and zucchini f/ the farmer’s market, rice, and salad
Thursday – Breakfast for dinner – eggs, bagels, fried potatoes, fruit salad
Friday and Saturday – out of town for a friend’s wedding
Sunday -Burgers on the grill
I hope that everyone has a great week! Be sure to check back tomorrow as I share some of my tips and tricks for natural and non-toxic ways to deal with pesky insects in the kitchen!
