Can you believe it’s March 1st?! Can I tell you how excited I am! I am so, so ready for spring!!
Although March doesn’t necessarily mean warm temperatures are right around the corner here in Indiana, for me, it does mean the end of the long winter. Even though it will most likely snow again, I know it will quickly melt, and soon I will see the signs of spring and of life that bring me so much joy this time of year.
To get ready for spring around here at Live Renewed, we’re going to be talking all about green spring cleaning this month. I know that soon the days will be warmer and I’ll want to spend as much time as possible outside, so I really want to focus on cleaning up and organizing this month inside our home. I’m planning to follow along with Simple Mom’s Project Simplify, and hope that will encourage me to get organized in different areas around the house.
We’ll also cover deep cleaning, and how to do that naturally and effectively, using homemade cleaners as much as possible. If you have a question about homemade or green cleaning – be sure to leave me a comment here, or you can also connect with me over on my Facebook page. I love to hear from my readers over there, and it’s a great place to ask questions and encourage discussion! Another thing that it’s time to start thinking about is gardening. I am so excited to get going on my garden this year. At the end of last fall, my hubs dug up most of our front yard, and made awesome rock walls with beds where I can garden, and we’ll also be adding a much larger garden space than we had last year, to our side front yard.
What’s so crazy to me is that now is really the time to start thinking about and planning your garden, if you haven’t already. Today I’m over at Keeper of the Home sharing the lessons I learned from gardening last year, and the things I’m hoping to work on and change in my garden this season.
From the post:
I wanted to start off with a simple garden last year, I didn’t want to overwhelm myself with gardening on my first attempt. And while I only planted 6 types of vegetables, I didn’t plant nearly enough of them to actually get the kind of yield I was looking for.
For example, my family loves sugar snap peas, so I planted about 20 plants, but the most peas that I harvested at one time was only nine. Usually it was more like only four or five, and while I loved eating them right off the vine, I never had enough to actually use for a meal. Read More…
I’ll also be sharing my own plans for my garden this year, later on this month. If you’d like to follow along with me here as we green spring clean, organize and get ready to garden, you can subscribe to be sure you don’t miss a single post!
Are you ready for spring? What plans to do have for spring cleaning and getting ready for your garden?
Love the encouragement to plant the things we really enjoy and plant MORE of those…I think this year we’ll go with lots of snap peas and tomatoes because…
em your rock wall looks awesome!!! i love it! can’t wait to see it filled with lovely things 🙂
