We haven't had much of a winter wonderland this year!
So, it’s been a long while since I’ve done an inspiration post, probably because through much of the fall and my first trimester of pregnancy, I really wasn’t inspired by anything! (Except for maybe sleeping!)
Anyway, I thought to go along with my goals for the month, I’d share some of my inspirations lately as well too.
Our weather this winter has been so weird, and relatively mild, so I really can’t complain about being sick of winter or ready for spring. I am ready to see the sun more, but even that I can’t complain about too much, it’s been much more sunny this year than usual, and I really need to make an effort to get outside more with my kids, while the weather cooperates!
What I’m Reading
I talked about this a little on Wednesday, but in addition to 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think, I’ve also been reading Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth.
A wonderful lady from my Bible Study loaned this book to me, and it is so, so good. My husband and I just decided that we are going to try for a homebirth with this baby, and this book was one of the main inspirations for me believing that I can, and want, to have my baby at home. I think every pregnant mama should read this book and realize the amazing way that God made our bodies, and the true potential that we have to give birth naturally!
I also picked up a few books from my Green Living Book List from the library to browse through, as you can see in the picture.
What I’m Listening To
Have you guys checked out Spotify yet? I’m still learning about all that it offers, but let me just say that it is so amazing! It’s basically like having the entire iTunes library available to listen to, for FREE!
You can search for artists, albums, or genres that you like and listen to any and all of the music they have (which is pretty much everything) as much as you want, whenever you want. You can also discover new music by following other people’s playlists and by seeing what your friends are listening to.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with Florence + The Machine, and Mat Kearney, and my daughter loves that we can listen to all of the Disney Princess music!

In the Kitchen
Pinterest continues to be a main source of new food inspiration for me. (If you haven’t joined yet, you need to!) From meal ideas, to snacks and treats, to hot, and cold, drinks, I have found so much good stuff on there.
Some of my favorites recently:
- Fresh Lime Soda
- Blueberry Multigrain Pancakes
- Avocado Grilled Cheese
- Pioneer Women’s Broccoli Cheese Soup
- Chicken, Black Bean, and Rice Bake
- And I put together this list of 15 Healthy Homemade Snacks you, and your kids, will love, from ideas I found on Pinterest!
Around the House
We are having some sleeping issues at our home lately, and in a effort to remedy that, and help our kids learn to sleep better before Baby #3 arrives, we’re planning to do a major rearranging of two of our rooms this weekend.
We’re going to move our kids beds from upstairs, to our second bedroom on the main floor, which is currently our office/guest room/toy room. That room has always been my nemesis because I cannot seem to keep it organized (I think it’s because it has too many functions for such a small room), so a major overhaul is in order! We’ll see how it goes.
But, I’m definitely being inspired by all of these toy organization ideas that I found on Pinterest! Maybe we can get all of our toy clutter under control after all!
Oh, and how could I forget — Blissdom! I mentioned on Wednesday that I am heading to Blissdom at the end of the month, and I am so, so excited (and a little nervous too, of course)! There are going to be some amazing bloggers there who I would love to try to to rub shoulders with, as well as some blogging friends (Megan!) who I cannot wait to meet in real life!
So, that’s what’s inspiring me this month, how about you?
What’s your inspiration this February? Are you ready for Spring, or have you been having mild weather, like us, too?
