Happy Friday! I’m over at Green Your Way today talking about our sweet little babes and how we can care for them naturally with homemade remedies. From the post:
A new baby’s skin is so soft, and delicate, and precious. And, as parents, we want to do everything we can to keep it that way. Unfortunately, many of the conventional and name brand baby care products contain ingredients that we wouldn’t want to put on our own skin, much less our sweet babe’s.
The great thing is that there are lots of easy and homemade remedies for some of the most common baby complaints, like diaper rash, cradle cap, colic and teething.
With our new baby, Blair, we’ve been using the most natural and safe products that we can on her little body. I’ve really been surprised at how easy it is to take care of her needs with so few products, and using things that we already had on hand!

Also, as I’m sure you realize, it’s November 30, and Advent starts tomorrow! If you’re like I usually am, and don’t have a plan yet for doing Advent with your kids, I’d love to suggest that you check out Truth in the Tinsel! We did it last year, and it was so great to have all the Bible readings and crafts planned out for us. And this year they’re also offering printable ornaments for each day that you can download, print out, and have your kids color them in.
I just bought the printable ornaments because ya’ll know how un-crafty I am. I’m still planning to do some of the simpler crafts with my kids, but for days where we run out of time, or don’t have the right supplies for the crafts, we’ll just use the printable ornaments. Plus, my kids are in a love-to-color stage, so I know they’ll still enjoy coloring the ornaments in.
I have to say that having Truth in the Tinsel has made such a huge difference for me in not having to worry about planning out activities for Advent. And the kids love it. My daughter saw my printed copy of the book the other day in our office and asked when we were going to get ready for Christmas again! I love how it point their little hearts (and let’s me honest, mine too) toward Jesus during this busy Season.
Get your copy of Truth in the Tinsel today, so you can get started with it tomorrow!
How do you celebrate Advent with your family?

I’ve been gearing up for advent–in a very big way this year! I have written several posts (at joyfulmombaude.com) on making kid friendly–no fire include–advent wreaths, a liturgical journal, and on Sunday I will be posting Advent Traditions–a large post on how our entire house is transformed into a celebration/anticipation of Jesus.
Be Blessed.
