This is Week 6 of the Simplify the Season series.
Well Christmas is just one week away, and one of the ways that I’ve decided to Simplify my Season is to take a blogging break for the last two weeks of the year. I’ll still be posting over the next few weeks, but I’ve worked ahead and scheduled my posts so that I can spend time away from the computer. I also know that this is a season when many people step away from their computers to spend time with their family and enjoying their celebrations, which is a good thing! So today’s post is going to be short and sweet.
By this point, you’ve probably already done most of your Christmas shopping, but if not, I’d encourage you to go back and read the previous posts on simplifying your gift giving, so that it doesn’t become something that is too stressful to you over the next week.
And for all of us, as we head into this last week of to-do lists, preparations and parties, I’d just encourage you to slow down, to cherish the little moments with your children, to simplify in whatever way you can, and to simply enjoy this Season and everything that it means for you and your family.
And in light of the tragedy on Friday in CT, as I cry and pray for the families who lost their babies and loved ones, I am thankful that during this Season we get to celebrate the One who came to this world as a baby, to save us, and is coming again one day, to make all things right.
“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NLT
“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:3-4 NLT
