This is Day 26 of the Green in 365 series!
Here are some of my favorite posts and green resources from the past few weeks!
Healthy Living
Feeling Overwhelmed with Protecting Your Children from Toxins? You’re Not Alone at Babble – Where I get on my soapbox and rant a little about how frustrated I feel sometimes.
How to Treat the Flu Naturally with Herbs at Frugally Sustainable – We’ve all heard the news stories about how bad flu season is this year, it’s wise to think about building up your immune system naturally and treating the flu with natural remedies should you or your family get sick.
Move Over Whole Foods {Save Money & Buy Healthy Food at Aldi} at The Humbled Homemaker – I’ve been shopping more at Aldi lately and am thrilled with their new organic line. Let’s all go out and buy it up so they keep it in the stores! I also love to see what others get at Aldi, this post is a great place to start if you’ve never shopped at Aldi before.
Food
Homemade French Fries (Better Than Fast Food) at Red and Honey – Um… YUM! Enough said.
Food Ads: What are the Facts Behind the Spin at Mommypotamus – I’ve been thinking a lot about food ads recently (maybe I’ll share more about that in an upcoming post), but I thought this post was interesting and thought provoking.
Easy Almond Flour Pancakes at Wellness Mama – As we’re working on moving more grain-free I’m trying to build up my arsenal of grain-free recipes. These look yummy and easy!
Also, my husband and I recently watched the documentaries Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and Hungry for Change on Netflix and he was inspired to do a 10 day juice fast. We purchased this juicer, and have been really happy with it so far, and he has been drinking nothing but juice for the past four days.
I’m really proud of his commitment, he’s already lost at least 6 pounds and we can see a difference in his face, his chest and his stomach. After he finishes the juice fast, we’ll be working on cleaning up our overall diet, and moving more towards eating grain-free and possibly doing the GAPS diet. We’ll be talking even more about Real Food in February, so you can look forward to that!
Finally, don’t forget that 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life by Crystal Paine is the Featured Ebook of the Month and on sale through Jan. 31st for only $1.99 with the code LIVERENEWED. Click here to purchase your discounted copy of the book, and get motivated to continue working on your New Year’s goals and resolutions!
Have a great weekend!
