So what is more expensive? A quality protective cover for your cell phone? Or replacing a cracked, broken screen twice in three months? Well I can tell you, it’s definitely not the cover! And I’m thankful to OtterBox for sponsoring this post and providing my phone with a case that will protect it from my kids and me from now on.
I don’t know about you, but my kids use my iPhone a lot. They play games, read books, watch shows and YouTube videos, FaceTime family, and listen to music. The first time my screen broke my daughter was reading in her bed and the phone slipped off the top bunk onto the floor, screen down. Accidentally, of course.
The screen was popped out, and when we popped it back in… nothing. Just blackness. My husband graciously took it to get the screen replaced. $100 later, good as new.
A few months later I was at the gym getting ready to go for a run on the treadmill. The machine I was on was shaky, so I decided to move over to the next one. I grabbed my towel and phone in one hand, and my water bottle in the other hand and went to step over the the next machine. I didn’t have a good grip on my phone and it slipped, the screen bashed against the base of the treadmill before landing upside down on the floor. The screen was completely cracked up and down and all across and was totally unresponsive.
Another $100 and I had my second new screen in three months. Without a quality cover protecting my cell phone I ended up paying a lot more than I needed to for these simple accidents.
