We're finally getting some nicer spring weather around here and we've been so happy to be spending time outdoors again! We're also getting excited about starting our garden, hoping to get some early plants in soon! And then there's rainy days like today where we just want to curl up on the couch and watch a movie, but rainy days are what make our flowers and plants grow! I can't wait for the flowering trees to bud, that's my favorite part of spring! Now it's time for Your Green Resource … [Read more...]

It's spring break here this week, and along with celebrating Easter, we got to spend a few extra days visiting my family in Michigan and hanging out with my new nephew! It's crazy how tiny newborns are, and then when I look at Blair who is almost 10 months old, how quickly they grow up! Blair even took some of her first steps this weekend! She'll walk 2-3 steps between my husband and me, and then one morning she pulled up on the couch and then let go and walked 3-4 steps to where I was sitting … [Read more...]

Hello friends! Happy Pi Day! Sorry I'm late with getting YGR up this week! I spent most of the day yesterday with my sister as she gave birth to her first baby! A healthy boy! I was so excited to be with her for the birth, after having three children on my own, it was amazing to be able to watch the birth process instead of being the one experiencing it! :) She did awesome and I am so proud of her! So, now it's time for Your Green Resource again! Remember when you link up your post to Your … [Read more...]

So, I'm writing all about Spring this week for the Green in 365 series, but yet, on Tuesday night we got a heavy snowfall and even had a snow day yesterday. Now our world looks like a winter wonderland and not so much like Spring is just around the corner. Sigh. My kids are yearning for warmer days too. They keep asking when spring will come. And my daughter has been making a bucket list of all of the things that she wants to do this spring and summer. Things like running through the … [Read more...]

We enjoyed a long weekend visiting my family up in Michigan this past weekend. We had a fun baby shower for my sister, who is due with her first baby next month! She got lots of great stuff, including many of my favorite and essential products for the newborn stage! I'm so excited for her, and can't wait to meet my new nephew! There were also several inches of snow, and it snowed more while we were there, so we enjoyed some time sledding as a family, and Jer and the kids built a great … [Read more...]

Happy Valentine's Day! How do you celebrate Valentine's Day? We're not big celebrators here, we like the holiday, but don't go crazy about it. Kaelyn made her Valentine cards for her class, they turned out cute and she's excited about giving them to her friends. I'm not looking forward to all the candy that will be coming home with her tomorrow. Do you have any ideas for dealing with unwanted candy with your kiddos? (who happen to love candy, like any child would!) Tonight after dinner we … [Read more...]

I love days like I had yesterday, full of good food, finds, and friends. First of all, I had chicken stock simmering in my crock pot all day long after cooking a whole chicken for dinner. Then we met the Azure Standard truck for our delivery and I got another 20 lbs of organic apples for only $20! Along with almond meal, organic rice, and organic hotdogs. If you don't order from Azure, I would highly recommend it. They have a HUGE selection of organic and natural food products at really great … [Read more...]
