Since we were already talking today about buying used clothing I wanted to take this chance to tell you about a great company I just found. thredUP is a online swap program where you can get a box of gently used children’s clothing, chosen based on gender, size and a description of the clothing included, for just $5 plus shipping.
Once you receive your box, you pack up a box of your kid’s outgrown clothes and send them out when someone chooses your box. Then you can order another box, and the cycle continues. It’s a great way to get gently used kids clothing without having to scour thrift stores, consignment stores and garage sales.
The best part is, if you join thredUP through this link you will get your first box for FREE, you only pay the shipping! Head over to thredUP to sign up today and start swapping your kid’s outgrown clothes for “new” clothes they can actually wear!

I just joined through your link. I’ve been meaning to join for a while anyway, so this was a good reminder. 🙂
OK, that was a real dud; no clothes available at all in any of my kids clothes sizes 🙁
Oh, I’m sorry Joyce – I think that they’re just kind of getting started, so there’s not a lot of people listing their used clothes yet. Maybe once they have more people involved they will have a better selection of clothes.
