I’m sure that many of us are familiar with burnout.
That feeling of stress and overwhelm that you just can’t shake off. The exhaustion that creeps in throughout the day and overtakes you by eight o’clock in the evening.
The thought that you would do anything to have just 10 minutes of alone time to do something that’s just for you, and not for anyone else.
Not because you’re selfish, just because you give everything of yourself to everyone else and then there’s nothing left to fill your tank back up.
I know. I see you. I understand.
Because I am right there with you. The stage I’m in of raising little ones, working from home, managing my home, trying to fit all.the.things. into a 24 hour day has been causing some serious stress and overwhelm in my life recently.
It’s not a fun place to be. And we get to this point and realize that we have to do something to walk ourselves back from the ledge.
We need to bring ourselves to a place of healing and health, because it is only when we are healthy and whole that we can truly love and care for and serve those around us who are counting on us.
Introducing the Embracing Self-Care Series: A Community Blogging Project
That’s why I’m so excited about the Self-Care Series that I am participating in this month with a group of my favorite natural living bloggers.
- Beth from Red and Honey
- Diana at My Humble Kitchen
- Erin from The Humbled Homemaker
- Leigh Ann from Intentional By Grace
- Krissa from More than Mundane
- Mindy from This Crazy Wonderful Life
- Nicole from Gidget Goes Home
- Stacy from A Delightful Home
Every Wednesday for the next four weeks, we’ll be discussing a different topic related to self-care and I be sharing my thoughts, experiences, and practical ideas to help lead you on a journey to taking better care of yourself. The topics we’ll be covering are:
- Wednesday, April 2 – Know Thyself
- Wednesday, April 9 – Health & Spirituality
- Wednesday, April 16 – Peace in the Home
- Wednesday, April 23 – Taking Time for R & R
If you have a blog, we also invite you to join us by posting your thoughts and ideas about each topic and and linking up each week! If you don’t have a blog, no problem, just share your thoughts and ideas in the comments.
I’ll see you back here on Wednesday, as we kick off this series. I am really excited to talk about the Know Thyself topic because it’s something I’ve been diving into a lot lately and is really helping me understand my strengths and motivations as well as my weaknesses. And knowing yourself is a great way to begin finding ways to take better care of yourself!
