I stumbled across the idea of an Apple Cider Vinegar and water drink a few years ago and was intrigued. I had heard a lot about the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) but was unsure about actually drinking it. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try it.
I found a simple recipe and I was pleasantly surprised by the taste, but it was the way I felt after drinking it that really got me hooked! It’s a natural energy-boosting drink!
While there are definitely lots of good reasons to to drink ACV on a regular basis, what impresses me the most about this drink is the way I instantly feel better and more energetic after drinking it!
I will be honest that I don’t get as much sleep as I should. And I love my morning coffee, sometimes right into the afternoon! I had gotten into a bad habit of having an extra cup of coffee in the afternoon because I was dragging and feeling so tired.
When I drank this ACV drink instead, it gave me just as much of a boost in my energy, without a crash afterward and without feeling jittery like coffee in the afternoons sometimes does.
So, this has become my go-to afternoon energy drink. I will be honest that it may take you a little while to get used to the taste. You can start with less ACV and work up to adding more as you get used to the flavor. But I’m willing to bet that you will start to crave this drink in the afternoons. I do!
All Natural Afternoon Energy-Boosting Drink
- carbonated water – I usually use cans of LaCroix or sometimes bottles of San Pellegrino
- 1/2 – 1 Tbsp of raw organic Apple Cidar Vinegar with the mother (I use Bragg’s)
- 1 tsp of lime juice
- 3-5 drops of liquid stevia.
- Fill glass with as much ice as you like
- Pour ACV into glass and the fill up glass with carbonated water
- Add lime juice and stevia
- Stir with a stainless steel straw
Enjoy your natural energy-boost!

I have tried it but never gotten into it on a regular basis. I’ll try this combination when the weather gets warmer! In winter I mostly have hot drinks, but I try to minimize the coffee by having herbal tea–sometimes, all I really need to perk me up is WATER, and herbal tea gets it into me warmly.
In the summer, I often drink this homemade electrolyte replenisher, which really helps with sweaty, exhausted feelings. I wonder if you could add ACV to that?
Just curious why it is important to stir witha stainless steel straw-does it affect the flavor or the composition of the ingredients?

Nope, I just use a stainless steel straw to drink it, so I use that to stir it instead of of a spoon, so I don’t make more dirty dishes. 😉
