Missed Movement Moments

This is Week 6 of the 2013 Fitness Challenge. I have a great guest post for you today from Bethany of Fit2B. She's sharing ideas for fitting in fitness as busy moms when our kiddos are around! Written by Bethany Learn, Founder of Fit2B Studio Just this morning, a mother of 13 month-old twins and a 7 year-old was confessing her difficulty with fitting in time for workouts. She said she'd been hoping to watch one of our Fit2B Studio workouts at the start of naptimes, but all it takes is … [Read more...]

2013 fitness challenge

This is Week 5 of the 2013 Fitness Challenge. Brrrrr! Happy Monday! Can you believe it's February already! We're half way through the fitness challenge, and I'm happy with my progress in some ways, and not in others. I'm happy with the running that I've been able to fit in. It feels good to get out and run and have some quiet and alone time. I'm finding that running is therapeutic for me in a way I didn't expect. My dad was always very active, even biking in the last few months before … [Read more...]

A Day in The Life Of...

I'm joining Rebekah at Simply Rebekah today and her annual A Day in the Life... link-up. The idea is to take a picture every hour that you're awake for one whole day, just to see what a day in your life looks like. This is the first year I've participated, because I finally remembered to actually take my pictures. And with my iPhone, it's much easier for me to just snap a picture wherever I am, whatever I'm doing. I really enjoyed this project, and found that I was taking pictures more often … [Read more...]

2013 fitness challenge

This is Week 4 of the 2013 Fitness Challenge. How are you this Monday? Did you have a good weekend? How are you doing on your fitness goals? This past week was freezing cold here in Northern Indiana, so I had to move my workouts indoors, and didn't get the chance to run outside this weekend like I had hoped. But, the weather here shows high is going to be 46° today, 61° tomorrow, and then back down to 16° by Friday. Crazy! But, I'm planning to run both today and tomorrow and then we'll go … [Read more...]

This is Week 3 of the 2013 Fitness Challenge. Good Monday Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend! How did you do on your fitness goals this week? Did you workout as often as you planned? Well, we all have those weeks where things don't go according to our plans, right?! So last week was definitely one of those weeks for me. I'll be honest with you, I'm really struggling right now with balancing/juggling all that I have to do with working from home, taking care of my family and home, … [Read more...]

2013 fitness challenge

This is Week 2 of the 2013 Fitness Challenge. Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had amazing spring-like weather here on Saturday, with temperatures close to 60°, but then reality set back in as the temperature dropped and dropped yesterday along with sleet and snow. But, I got in a great run on Saturday that I felt really good about! How did you do on your fitness goals this week? Did you workout as often as you planned? I didn't do quite as much as I wanted to this … [Read more...]

2013 fitness challenge

It's the beginning of a new year, and many people are making resolutions or setting goals for losing weight and getting in shape this year. Myself included. Last year I was pregnant with baby #3 when the new year rolled over, and I liked that because I didn't have to make a goal of losing weight last year, I only had to worry about growing a healthy baby inside my growing body! But, this year is a different story. Now that Blair is seven months old and I still look a little bit pregnant, … [Read more...]

Home Remedies for Natural Baby Care

Happy Friday! I'm over at Green Your Way today talking about our sweet little babes and how we can care for them naturally with homemade remedies. From the post: A new baby’s skin is so soft, and delicate, and precious. And, as parents, we want to do everything we can to keep it that way. Unfortunately, many of the conventional and name brand baby care products contain ingredients that we wouldn’t want to put on our own skin, much less our sweet babe’s. The great thing is that there are lots … [Read more...]

Guest Post by Sara Elizabeth of A Mama's Story: *A note from Emily: I'm thankful to have Sara Elizabeth sharing some of her experience with Postpartum Depression and how to help a mama you may know who is struggling.
