Food, oh food. A few weeks into your pregnancy, you probably begin to have a love/hate relationship with this most basic necessity. On the one hand, you can't seem to get enough to eat. Somehow you are suddenly ravishing and must.eat.right.now! On the other, the idea of actually fixing or cooking any kind of food just makes you want to take a nap, and when you open the fridge you have to turn around and heave (dry or not) over the sink. I remember when I was pregnant with Kaelyn, my first … [Read more...]
Heathy Green Pregnancy – It Starts Now!
Like many mamas out there, I first started to become aware of the effects of chemicals and toxins in my environment when I was pregnant with my first child. When you first find out you are pregnant, the reality of the responsibility that you now hold to grow and sustain this new life often brings with it a greater awareness of the world around you. And it is definitely true that laying a good foundation for the future health and well-being of your child begins while they are … [Read more...]
A Healthy Green Pregnancy – Surviving the First Trimester
You may be wondering why I'm starting a pregnancy series - well, the obvious answer is, of course, because I'm pregnant! Yes, Baby #3 is due in June of 2012! We got to see the baby and the heartbeat on an ultrasound on Monday, and that first glimpse of a new baby is just so unbelievably amazing! We are feeling very blessed and happy, but honestly, I have been feeling terrible for the past six weeks. My Frugally Green Journey – How It All Began
For the past 3 ½ years, or so, my family and I have been on a journey toward living green and living frugally, learning to be a good steward of all of the resources that God has provided us with. I wanted to take the opportunity to share my story with you over the next few weeks, because I think that telling our stories is so important, and so that you can learn a little about where I came from, and how I came to the place I am today. I want to start out by emphasizing that this is a … [Read more...]
Taking off the Baby Weight
Please don't throw anything at me when I tell you this, but I weigh less now than I did before I got pregnant with Kaelyn, my first child, and definitely less than I did when I got pregnant with Brenden. Now that he is a year old and I can officially say that I’ve lost all of my baby weight and then some, I was thinking about what I’ve done over the past year, or changes that I made, that helped me to take the weight off without actually working very hard at it (I'm ducking and covering my … [Read more...]

2nd Trimester
I am now 16 (almost 17) weeks along in this pregnancy and in full swing of the second trimester. I LOVE the 2nd trimester of being pregnant. I am feeling completely like myself again, I have my energy back, and except for my slightly bulging belly, I really don't feel pregnant at all. The last few days have been great - I almost feel like I'm already getting in the nesting mode (which I never really felt when I was preggo with K), I am a busy little bee getting stuff done around the house. My … [Read more...]
