Question of the Day – What’s Your Favorite Homemade Product?

February 21, 2012 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

I want to start a new monthly feature here on Live Renewed highlighting homemade or handmade products, but I'm having a hard time deciding where to start.  I already make a lot of things at home, and I'm lacking inspiration for what I should tackle next. So, I thought I'd turn to you - my wonderfully resourceful readers, and find out what your favorite thing is to make homemade. This could be a food product, a crafty type of thing, or cleaning or beauty product, I want to hear about them … [Read more...]

Question of the Day — Do You Keep Your Routines During the Holidays?

December 12, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

I've had something on my mind the past week or so.  As I've slowly been coming out of my first trimester fog, I've been trying to put the pieces of life back together.  One of the things that totally flew out the window as soon as the pregnancy sickness hit was any kind of routine or schedule that I had kept to before. I know for my own sanity and well-being, I need to get back to my schedule and routines, but I'm finding it really hard with everything Christmas and the holidays in full … [Read more...]

Question of the Day – What Motivates You?

June 22, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

I am not one of those people that is a naturally self-motivated or disciplined person. I have to fight a natural tendency to procrastinate like crazy and, quite honestly, be lazy sometimes.  I am very easily distracted by things, which I then get sucked in to, and can end up wasting precious minutes/hours of my time. What happens is that I lose discipline, get distracted, waste time, and then I get frustrated with myself, and feel overwhelmed and unmotivated about what I didn't do, and what I … [Read more...]

Question of the Day – Natural Laundry

May 18, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

Photo by Magic Madzik Next month we'll be covering all different aspects of natural laundry. I've been busy testing some different natural laundry products, but I have to admit that I have struggled with going green in the laundry area. We'll talk more about that next month, but today I want to know... What area of natural laundry to do struggle with the most? Getting stains out? Finding a good natural detergent? Line drying your laundry? Whatever it is, I'd love to know so that I … [Read more...]

Question of the Day – What Does Conscious Consuming Mean To You?

April 13, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

Photo by Christian Guthier Since we were talking about our stuff and the effects that our choices have on others on Monday, (and thanks for all of your great comments!), for the question of the day today, I wanted to ask what you all do to be more conscious consumers. For me, it can be really hard and overwhelming to be a conscious consumer in every area, but it is still something that is on my mind almost any time that I purchase something, whether food, clothing, or household … [Read more...]

Question of the Day – Do You Make To-Do Lists?

February 16, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

My hubs and I have been having a little argument, ahem, discussion lately about how to manage our never ending "list" of things we need to do.  I am a list maker, he is not. I make things to do today lists, and things to do later lists, things to buy lists, and changes to make lists, I like to make all kinds of lists. Hubs is not a list maker. Ever.  I'm not sure I've ever seen him make any kind of list.  He thinks that they are pointless because they just make you feel like you didn't … [Read more...]

Question of the Day – How Did You Begin Your Journey Toward Green Living?

January 12, 2011 By Emily McClements
Thank you for supporting this site with purchases made through links in this post.

Photo by prakhar Since we've been talking about setting green goals and making green changes, I've been thinking a lot about the journey that we take when moving toward living a more green, natural, simple lifestyle. A while ago, my friend Jenica, who is one of my greatest supports and role models for living a green and natural lifestyle, and I were talking about how we started down this path toward green living. We both shared our stories, and it was interesting how similar they … [Read more...]

Photo by Stefan Baudy I am so excited to welcome my new readers to Live Renewed! I was so honored that Money Saving Mom featured my Homemade Clorox Wipes post last week, and that as well as my guest posts at Kitchen Stewardship, means that there are some new faces around here - except we can't really see each other, right! :) I wanted to start a Question of the Day post, once a month, because I would love to hear more and learn more about you, my wonderful readers.  I want to know what you … [Read more...]
